  1. The University of Maryland wrestling program's golf outing has been slated for Friday, June 27, at the Cross Creek Golf Club in Beltsville. Those wishing to participate can download the application and return it to the wrestling office. Proceeds for the tournament help support the wrestling program.

    Sophomore Hudson Taylor was named the 2008 ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for wrestling, announced May 28 by commissioner John Swofford. Taylor, an interactive performance arts major, was an All-American at 197 pounds and was the 2008 ACC Wrestler of the Year.

  5. Freshmen Brian Letters and Eric Medina both earned Amateur Wrestling News All-Rookie Team honors as Letters earned the top spot at 157 pounds while Medina was ranked fifth at 149.

    Junior Josh Haines and sophomore Hudson Taylor were named to the National Wrestling Coaches Association Division I All-Academic Wrestling Team. Haines finished the season with a 16-10 record at 184 pounds while Taylor finished third at the NCAA Championships to become Maryland's first wrestling All-American since 1997.
