Hi my first name is Joe. I am 16 years old and I am a junior in high school. I live in New Jersey, USA. I weigh 135 lbs and I believe I am 5'9 (or a little higher, not sure). I played wrestling for 3 years, not counting my sophomore year(last year) where I couldn't wrestle due to injury. The injury was 2 broken bones between my elbow and wrist.
EDIT: I just took a hydration test today. I totaled in at 7 percent body fat and I am going to wrestle the weight class 140. At the time of the hydration test when I forced myself to drink a lot of water I was 139.4 pounds. And I am 5'10 feet tall.
I am planning to go into my 4th year of wrestling in high school. I am planning to be the best that I could be and enter states competition and do good. I am well aware that it will take heaps of effort and motivation. And I've got a long way to go. So I need all the motivation and advice I can get.
- Bench 200
- Squat 200
- Do 5 pull-ups without assist - Do 10 pull-ups without assist ... etc
- Do 5 Chins with 22 pound assist - 10 reps after. Then without assist
- 10 dips - 15 dips - 20 dips ... etc (good form)
- Gain weight while not gaining more fat but losing, get to 150 1bs
- 40 push-ups - 50 - 60 ... etc
- 40 sit-ups - 50 - 60 ... etc
- 30 squat jumps - 40 - 50 ... etc
Jog 20 minutes straight at speed of "6.0"- 30 minutes- 40 minutes- ...etc.
Sprint 2 mins 30 secs at speed of "10.5-11" - 3 mins - 3 mins 30 secs ...etc
I will use the 5X5 plan. I will workout somewhere between 3-4 days a week to the best of my ability. I will see how this goes because I am a student in high school and wrestling practice is starting oct-28. Also I work out at a gym.
I will do body workouts every day as I have realized the gym isn't enough. I will also take jogs around the park as much as possible given the chance and time.
- Squats - 115 pounds
- Bench Press -115 pounds
- Pull-ups Max (no assist) - 4 =/
- Dips Max -7
- Knee Raises max -20
I will increase 5 pounds every week.

- Squats - 5X5 115 pounds
- Bench Press - 5X5 115 pounds
- Pull Ups (assists 22 pounds =( ) - 5XF - 5,6,5,7,5
- Dips - 5XF - 5,5,7,6
- Knee Raises -5XF - 20,15,17,15,13
- 1 minute jog, 1 minute and a half sprint (maybe 2 don't remember)
- 40 blocks walked (to gym and back)
The squats were kind of hard. I think I should do much better. At this point, the pull ups are giving me a real struggle. I'm not good at them. And with out any assist I can't complete one set of 5 and after that my arms would be extremely tired. The dips were also hard, I struggled a lot with them. They hurt my shoulder and chest a lot. Which I know is a good thing because it means that my muscles are getting stronger.
I don't feel like this is a good day, I am dissapointed in how much my strength got weaker and cardio since I didn't play wrestling last year (due to injury).
Also I tried chin-ups today. I felt extremely uncomfortable and had a lot of trouble doing them. I also forgot about the leg-press today.
