Mark Rippetoe's Starting Strength Log
So, I just started Rippetoe's program today with my brother. I'm not as strong as I was over summer, but I wasn't any strong to begin with anyways. I'm not looking for any specific weight gains, whatever "happens" happens. I am, however, looking for massive strength gains, especially in my legs. So here goes.
Currently @ 125.5 lbs
3/15/10
Monday:
3x5 155lb Squat
3x5 125lb Bench Press
1x5 195lb Deadlift
Re: Mark Rippetoe's Starting Strength Log
damn how tall are you do you Wrestle 119s or 112s?
Re: Mark Rippetoe's Starting Strength Log
I used to wrestle both 112 and 119 during season, depending on how much I was able to cut. I ended up wrestling 119 at the end of the season though. I'm 5"5 or 5"6.
Re: Mark Rippetoe's Starting Strength Log
thats real good for a 112 did you kickass at 119s this year i went 5-5 on Jv i was 5-3 till league finals then i had to fill the 130 spot and got destroyed
Re: Mark Rippetoe's Starting Strength Log
I placed in a couple of tournaments but didn't place high enough in districts to move ahead, which sucked, because I beat the guy who placed 4th twice before and the guy who placed 5th I teched. They were on the other side of the bracket, which was easier, though no excuses on my part I have to get better, I'm not going to make it anywhere at my current skill level.
What grade are you in?

Friday:
3x5 155lb Squat
3x5 125lb Bench Press
1x5 195lb Deadlift
End of week review:
The squating was hard as hell at first and the whole week I was walking like a duck. Today's workout using the same weights as Monday's seemed alot easier, which means a bump in weight for next week's workout. Haven't gained enough weight to tell if it's muscle or just daily influctuation of water weight, but I definately feel stronger.
