    wats the most popular protein powder and are any of them effective??? would you recommend drinking these for a 16 year old???

    protein powder is just protein - its really safe for anyone. i even see baby formula with whey protein, which is essentially what half the protein supplements out there for recreational lifters are. as far as what brands are popular - Isopure, Myoplex, Optimum Nutrition to name a few.

    That being said, you want to make sure most of your protein and caloric intake comes from real, whole food like the other guys were saying.

    optimum health pro complete 40 is really good. its low on calories and carbs, plus its got a lot of protein like 80 grams, and lots of amino acids and fiber.

    i recomend amplified whey protein 60 you can find it at your nearest GNC. I started using whey protein when i was 15 yrs old and i am 17yr old senior in highschool and it has really helped my muscles rebuild after lifting and i am continuing to see results. You can also ask whoever is working at the GNC
