Thread: JensenS' Workout Log

    Just didn't have it today...

    7/1
    Warm Up

    Snatch
    95x5
    135x3
    155x1
    170x2

Only rep that felt even remotely good here was the first rep at 170...Was going to follow this up by doing ten rounds of one snatch at 170, and one round of Cindy but as I was warming up I just had no juice at all in my legs so I didn't even bother with it.

As much as I would like to get negative about how today went, I also recognize that over the last six days I've PR'd my Back Squat, Clean and Jerk, and 30 Muscle Ups all of which I'm very happy about.

Rest day tomorrow, then moving to a new template starting on Sunday.

    Warm Up

    Back Squat
    45x10
    135x5
    185x5
    225x3
    260x5
    260x5
    260x5

First linear progression day here, everything was obviously easy. Obviously that isn't going to last, but I plan on enjoying it while it does.

    Hobart/Malleolo #5

    3 RFT
    Row 125 m (23.1, 24.1, 25.9)
    Rest Work Time
    Row 250 m (47.9, 51.1, 53.6)
    Rest Work Time
    Row 500 m (1:38.1, 1:54.5, 1:48.5)
    Rest Work Time

Had been a while since I'd gone and just smashed myself on the rower. This was tough.

Second 500 was hard enough to where I had to give serious thought to whether or not I wanted to do the third round.

Stayed with it though, the negative split on the final 500 made me happy.

    Warm Up

    Hang Snatch
    45x5
    95x2
    115x1
    135x1
    145x1
    155x1
    165x1
    175x1
    185x1

Surprised myself here. I guess this is a PR kind of by default as I'd never really worked up in weight here on this movement. Started to feel more comfortable as the weight moved up.

Nice confidence builder to let me know that I'll make these weights easy if I get the bar in the right spot.

    Quarter Gone Bad
    5 Rounds
    :15 Thruster @135 (6/6/6/6/6)
    :45 Rest
    :15 Weighted Pull Ups @45 (4/4/4/4/4)
    :45 Rest
    :15 Burpee (7/7/8/8/8)
    :45 Rest

    88 Reps

Had been wanting to do this workout for a while, liked it a lot. Was a good stimulus but didn't completely waste me either.

Fell just short of goal of 90.

    Warm Up

    Back Squat
    45x10
    135x6
    225x4
    265x5
    265x5
    265x5

    Second LP day, still easy.

    Press
    45x10
    75x6
    95x4
    120x5
    120x5
    120x5

First LP day here. Easy for now.

    Dead Hang Pull Ups
    13, 11, 10

Still kind of undecided as to what I want to do with these. Whether I want to keep repping out unweighted, switch to a 3x5 progression with weight, or kind of do a thing where I'll alternate between the two on a weekly basis.

    Warm Up

    Clean
95x3 (High Hang), x3 (Low Hang), x3 (Full)
    135x2
    165x1
    185x1
    205x1
    225x1
    240x1
    265x0, x0, x0, x0, x0, x0

Was working out by myself, and looking back at what wound up going down that was probably a good thing as I had a few outbursts after misses 4-6 at 265 that I would have been embarrassed to display in front of other people.

    DT
    5 RFT
    12 Deadlifts @155
    9 Hang Cleans @155
    6 Push Jerks @155

    18:30

    Gamed this one all wrong.

Finished the first round right at the 2:00 mark working at a moderate pace, but should have slowed down a little at that point. Knew I was in trouble when I had to start breaking up the jerks.

Lost a callous in my left hand on the cleans midway through round 2.

    5 RFT
    1 L Rope Climb (10')
    5 Burpees
    10 Pistols

    6:46

Was feeling surprisingly good after an hour or so of recovery so I jumped in and did this with our 6 pm class.

Grip was smoked from DT so the rope climbs were a little slower than I would have liked.

    Warm Up

    Row 1k (Easy Pace)
    3:48

    Weighted Pull Ups
    40x1
    60x1
    75x1
    85x1
    95x1
    95x1
    100x0

    Row 1k (Easy Pace)
    3:41

Went in today with the idea of just doing an easy 2k row, but wound up deciding to give weighted pull ups a go since they're relatively low impact.

Only the second time I've ever worked up really heavy on them, 95 is a PR by 2 lbs.

    Warm Up

    Grace
    30 Clean and Jerks @135

    3:10

Pretty cool event today at the opening of Crossfit Salisbury, during the first part of their open house they had demonstrations of Fran, Diane, and Grace and they asked trainers from neighboring affiliates about coming in to do the workouts.

Since its been a good ten months or so since I've hit Grace (and since I've still got a chunk missing out of my left hand from DT) I volunteered to give that one a go.

Small PR here (:11), but really wanted to go sub 3.

    Visitor WOD
    Run 400 m
    40 Squats
    30 Sit Ups
    20 Push Ups
    10 Burpees

    3:48

Afterwards they had a second workout for visitors who came out to the opening and I wound up jumping in on that too. Basically an offshoot of the standard "Base" workout that was much easier with the run instead of the row, and the 10 burpees instead of 10 pull ups.

    7/10
    Warm Up

    Row 1k

    3:49.1 (19 s/m)

This was easy. Feel like this, or maybe just a little quicker in say the 3:45 range or so would be a really good Jackie pace.

    Back Squat
    45x10
    135x7
    225x5
    270x5
    270x5
    270x5

3rd LP day, still all easy.

    Tabata Double Unders
    21/20/20/15/13/12/11/11

    123

Really need to commit to doing this at least once a week if not more because this needs to be better.

    Warm Up

    Row 1k

    3:46.9 (18 s/m)

Really starting to like this as part of my warm up.

    Snatch
    95x3
    115x3
    135x1
    155x1
    175x1
185x1 (Sucked, but I made it)
    195x0
    195x1
205x0 (Close, turned it over and received it but was too forward and lost it)
    205x0 (Slow...)
    205x0 (Even slower...)
205x0 (Not quite as bad as the last one but still slow)
205x0 (Same as the first one, close but didn't stick it back far enough.

While I'm disappointed about not making the 205 (because I SHOULD have it) I can't really sulk too much about today. The 195 that I made was only the third time I'd ever made at least that much.

Going to keep going heavy here once a week, may try micro loading to steal a small PR and then go to 205 next time.
