    Easy.

    2) Bench Press: 2X5 @ 75%, 2X3 @ 80%, 3X2 @ 85% – rest 60 sec.

    200, 215, 230 (Failed Rep #2 on last set)

    As lame as this is going to sound, was using a different bench today and was just never comfortable. Had I been using the bench I normally use there is no doubt in my mind I make all the reps here.

    Strength/Conditioning
    1a) 3XME UB + 3 Muscle-Ups – rest 30 sec.

    5/3, 3/3, 3/3

    1b) 3X3 Snatch Grip Behind the Neck Press – much heavier than last week, rest 30 sec.

    1c) 3X20 UB KB Snatches (each arm) – heaviest possible (not lighter than last week), rest 30 sec.

    Wanted to die the whole time.

    1d) 3X10 Reverse Hypers – heavy, rest 30 sec.

    Barbell Gymnastics
    1) 7X1 1 Hang Power Snatch + 1 Power Snatch + 2 OHS as fast as possible – heaviest possible, rest 60 sec (exactly).

    135, 135, 145, 145, 155, 165, 170

    Didn't go crazy here. These were pretty smooth though. Happy to have been more solid than usual technically on these power lifts for the second week in a row.

    2) 7X1 1 Hang Power Clean + 1 Power Clean + 2 Push Jerks – heaviest possible, rest 60 sec (exactly).

    185, 200, 200, 215, 230 (Fail Power Clean), 215, 225 (Fail Power Clean)

    Wanted to do more here, but positioning was off when I'd go to TnG the power clean.

    Conditioning
    1 min AMRAP of:

    Only had one box so just did standard box jumps. Liked this a lot.

    2) 3 attempts to establish a 1RM Clean and Jerk.

    260, 275 (F), 275 (F)

    Crap day. Forward on all the misses. First time I haven't made at least one PR on Saturday in about a month.

    Strength
    EMOM for 7 minutes:

    2 1 1/4 Front Squats @ 75%

    Done w/ 262.5

    While these were naturally harder than last week's I still didn't think these were that bad.

    Usually don't do anything on Sundays but in a continued effort to break in the new Romaleos and as a birthday present to myself I decided to PR my split jerk, and that's what I did.

    Work to a 1RM Split Jerk

    135, 185, 205, 225, 245, 265, 280, 295, 305, 315 (F), 315 (F)

    305 was a 5 lb PR, and felt super solid. Did these without a belt as well which made me happy given that the 300 that I hit back in June I had my belt on.

    315 is reasonably close. First attempt I just didn't move fast enough. Second attempt I moved faster but my elbows dropped and I pushed it out in front of me.

    20 minutes to establish a 1RM Clean and Jerk.

    185, 225, 245, 265, 285, 290 (F), 290 (F)

    Since I worked up to a 1RM jerk yesterday I didn't want to do the same thing two days in a row, had a sub par day with these on Saturday so decided to take another shot at it.

    285 was a 5 lb PR and gets me to a longtime goal of a 500 lb combined total between the snatch and clean and jerk. Wish I had my camera because the 285 was a smooth rep. Was a better rep than the 280 that I made a couple weeks ago.

    Deadlifts 225/155#

    27 seconds faster than the last time I did this but still 20 seconds off my PR. Was on track to go sub 5 but failed with two handstand push ups to go. Came down and got one then failed again. Came down then finally got my last one.

    Deadlifts were as easy as they've ever been on this. Did my best to pace the HSPU rather than try and do them straight lest I burn out like I did last time I did this. Got to keep working that overhead endurance.

    390 is a new gym PR by 5 lbs, but I really wanted 410. PR is still from back in June when I came off my Hatch cycle. First attempt was maddeningly close.

    Conditioning
    1) 1 minute ME Burpees

    This was a PR, had been trying to get more than 5 for a little while.

    1) 15 minutes to establish a 1RM Bench Press.

    245x1, 260x1, 275x1, 280xF, 280xF

    Pleased with this. 275 is a 10 lb PR as far as "modern" times. It ties my all time PR that I set back in the spring of 2007 when I was approximately 20 lbs heavier. Amazing the difference just 5 lbs can make as neither attempt at 280 got more than an inch off my chest.

    2) 15 minutes to establish a 1RM Weighted Strict Pullup.

    65x1, 80x1, 90xF, 90xF

    Would have been good for 85, but the first attempt at 90 was too close not to give it another shot.

    Got 800 meters into this and just died. Well off my PR of 6:59.

    As long as you want to establish a 1RM Deadlift.


    135x10, 225x5, 315x3, 365, 415, 440, 465, 475 (F)


    While I came in hoping for a little bit more, I can't complain too much given that this is the first that my deadlift has moved in over a year.


    465 is a 5 lb all time PR and its up 25 lbs from the 440 that my deadlift had regressed to at Occupy Strength back in June.


    475 didn't budge.

    Happy to keep my streak of making at least 200 alive for another week, but other than that these were kind of frustrating. Starting to tinker with my start position again and I probably shouldn't be.


    Need to get back to what was working for me at the beginning of last month because I was head gaming myself here.


    2) 20 minutes to establish a 1RM Clean & Jerk.


    225, 245, 260, 275, 290 (F, F, F)


    These on the other hand continue to feel really good. Just didn't have the pop that I needed for the 290 after yesterday. First one spit me out the back, then clarked the next two. Either way I like what I'm doing with this.

    5 Pullups
    10 Pushups (hand release)
    15 Air Squats


    20 Rounds + 5 Pull Ups


    I didn't look and see the note about hand release push ups so I did these regular. PR'd by 4 reps. First time I'd touched this WOD in almost a year.
