I don't mean ignore my question. I mean: I have a question about ignore.

If we turn on the ignore switch, does that mean we don't see the ignored's posts or just that they can't send us private messages?

It means you won't see their posts.

A message pops up in place of where their post would be saying something to the effect of "You have chosen not to view this post because you are ignoring ________"

Great. I'm thinking this might be a good way to deal with trolls on an individual level--although it doesn't do much to solve the board's problem.

I bet Schlottke could do something where if a poster is ignored by a certain number of people, they get the boot. I'm not advocating it, but it sounds like something he could figure out.

In other words, does the ignored know his ignominous status, or is he ignorant of the state of affairs?

I believe at the moment the ignored are ignorant of the state, but if what I can gather from Schlottke is correct he's going to check and see if he can find a feature to allow the ignored to not be ignorant of the fact that they are considered ignoramuses.

Where is the ignore switch located?

Click into the person's profile that you want to ignore. Underneath their name, and their user title there is a black navigation bar. Go to "User Lists" on that bar, it'll drop down and it should be self explanatory after that.
