Thread: Take my Videos Down Please

Guys - you have some of my videos on your site that you overlaid your logo on. If you'd like to keep my videos on your site, you can just remove the logo you overlaid on top of them. It does not really make sense for me to help you sell more stuff (just like you removed my photos that had my name on them off your site). Maybe a user posted them here so no issues - just let me know when they are removed.

I'll have Schlottke take care of it when he gets on here today.

Unfortunately, the videos are brought into the videos section using the Youtube API - we have no control over which videos are displayed (if they aren't uploaded directly through TWT, that is). As a result, every video from every Youtube (.com/foreign domains) is available on the site.

If you don't want videos to appear in the video section you can select to disallow embedding in your Youtube account & they will not play.

I can probably create another work-around with .htaccess if this isn't satisfactory- it'd basically result in all of the video pages redirecting to another portion of the site. We certainly do not intend to feature your videos as a promotion, so anything I can do to help I will gladly do.

---- A portion of My PM to you explaining how to solve this:

I'm pretty limited in what I can do with the videos that we don't upload, but I will do everything I can to satisfy you.

    What I can't do:
Delete or alter code on specific videos. The datafeed is readonly and cannot be altered - it's against Youtube's TOS.

    What I can do:
Redirect the videos pages to alternate sections of TWT so your videos are never viewed on TWT.

If you want me to do this simply go to:
    http://www.thewrestlingtalk.com/memb...tlinggear.html

and tell me which videos you want removed/redirected.

    What you can do:
Remove the embedding option in your Youtube account. This may not be a viable option if you post these videos on your other sites, but for some reason Youtube has an "all or nothing" approach to how they handle their embeddable videos.

My issue is you are using my content as a competitor...do what you must to stop using my content on your site (just like you did not want me to post my photos on your site - and I understand - remember you removed my photos from your site that a visitor posted - I did not post the link)...it seems odd that you will use my video content but not my photographs.

Like I said, I'll be glad to redirect the videos you want removed if you can supply the URLs you would like us to take down.

We aren't going out of our way to use the videos you uploaded to Youtube- they are automatically added to the site. Other sites that sell wrestling gear and have videos on YT also appear in the index; wwsport, for example. Also, understand we are going out of our way to solve this request as we use the Youtube API completely within their Terms of Service and by uploading videos to YouTube you give 3rd parties (TWT, AOL, MSN, etc) the right to use the content in any way they would like within those terms. (its the "fee" you pay by using a free service like youtube to host your videos.)

    Youtube Terms
Section 6c: "...You also hereby grant each user of the YouTube Website a non-exclusive license to access your User Submissions through the Website, and to use, reproduce, distribute, display and perform such User Submissions as permitted through the functionality of the Website and under these Terms of Service."

I personally don't remember deleting photos, however, if they were posted to the forum and in any way advertise a resource that does not support thewrestlingtalk.com's community one of the moderators (or myself) will likely bring it down.

I don't recall seeing the pics. Could you be confused with the Nazi editors at TheMat ? Any photo with a publisher name on it was automatically removed regardless of who posted, wrestling content or not. This site is not in the habit of deleting pics, particularly wrestling pics.
Life's not the breaths you take, the breathing in and out that gets you through the day ain't what it's all about. It's the moments that take your breath away.

I did not post my photos, another member of your community did. He thought my photos were nice of a college dual meet I was at. Then you removed the link...and there were a few more posts about how they got deleted.

I definitely did not say hey buy your stuff at ______ website. The photos did have my name on them similar to how you are putting your logo on my videos...that's all...
