    Default The New Face

Horrible, way too busy. Be more productive ? Who the heck comes here to be productive? If I want to be productive i'll stay at work. This is a pleasure craft.

You've read one too many books. That layout is 180 from a meaningful one that accommodates and inspires the community.

    It's visitor chaser Schlotts.

Now I have to go and reset my bookmark

Hey, I don't care if it exists or doesn't. I'll take the detour thank you. Just passing on my opinion. As far as web design goes, it stinks and Schlotts should know better. It breaks some key rules for a successful design. If someone spends 5 secs trying to decpher it, they'll take a pass and move on. I don't think that is the intent.

I agree, I'm just messing with you (which you knew). I changed my bookmark too. I like the concept but it's a bit cluttered. I have a feeling Schlottke's not finished with it yet though and it'll probably end up looking a lot better. Maybe using a color instead of gray to divide each section would make it a little more clear?

I think it's great that we have the ability to customize it though. People who like it can keep it, people who don't, don't have to.

I appreciate Schlottke's efforts to constantly work to improve the layout, features, etc.

lol.. well, like Sara said.. it isn't quite done yet, (color changes, etc that didn't carry over well from the CSS and my constant inability to leave that stuff alone..)

In terms of being a 'visitor chaser'... I've released a similar layout on 9 of my other boards and each has shown an impressive jump in both time on site and pageviews for new and recent visitors. Most old timers hate it... which is why we give you the option to ignore it.

Keep an eye on it though, please. Your criticism is welcomed.. even from RYou!

Think of it as the front page of a newspaper. A newspaper layout is very easy to scan and sift.

Space between the columns and the articles. Headlines (forum topics) larger than the article.

Heck you can even give Mr Bot his own space and byline for wrestling news and links to other sites, Ideamarks blog, JBs 411, etc.

How about adding a crossword puzzle and a suduko?

I can believe in increases time on site - it takes forever to plow through all of the cr@p to find what you want.
Given that I am "grouchy, irritable, and mean" (let's not forget old) and frequently pay the surcharge, I really don't like the new front page!

haha, I *knew* someone would say something to that effect when I mentioned Time on Page... In reality, the frontpage (over time) should see a ToP drop of about 40%, spending time deeper in the site.

It should begin to get easier to use as I find time to clean it up.

This is probaby the biggest change since we moved to more of a social networking platform this past April. The April change helped account for a 350% + growth over the previous season's traffic (averaging 2,750 to around 10k daily) Hopefully we will see a similar improvement from this one.
