Thread: Thread Ads

I wasn't trying to be rude, I thought it was fixed. I'll check it out again later and try to figure out why you are still seeing them.

Please understand that the changes made are done to help you out (once it's actually finished). We don't want you to have to see ads- you have earned the right to not see them. Just bear with us- I do this site for fun, so I don't allot a ton of time for myself or my coders to work on it.

so to clarify.. the issue is currently still open, but it will be resolved shortly. We are in the process of some major changes and I don't want to hold those changes to solve this immediately.

UPDATE: Check it out now and let me know if you still see ads (don't forget to hit F5 again to refresh) It's not the easiest thing to do, if you haven't yet noticed.. lol

I don't begrudge you for trying to make a few bucks off the site given everything you do for it. But that ad is just downright annoying where it is placed.

Life's not the breaths you take, the breathing in and out that gets you through the day ain't what it's all about. It's the moments that take your breath away.

One lousy ad on the page doesn't bother me. I guess to some people they are making a huge deal out of nothing really.
I will smash your face into a car windshield and then take your mother, Dorothy Mantooth, out to a nice seafood dinner and never call her again!

Tell me about it, this morning, I woke up and I shit a squirrel, but what I can't get is the damn thing is still alive. So now, I've got a shit covered squirrel running around my office and I don't know what to name it.

I'm not a "Super User", but these flashing popups I'm getting today are really annoying - and I'm a marketing guy.

What flashing popups? You shouldn't have any ads you can't completely dismiss. Are they popup ads (we do not do these) or an ad in the "Notices" section?

Oh, and RYou, the ads may come and go over the next week- Im still trying to sort out why you and everyone in the super users group keeps getting re-added to the regular user's group as a secondary group.

Each of the ads acts as if I've "rolled over" the banner and will drop down from the top or pop up from the bottom. It doesn't seem to matter where the cursor is on the page and it happens on every forum. The Circuit City ad is the worst.

OK. I will check this out. It is a new advertising package we recently picked up from Circuit City (as you've apparently noticed... lol), Toyota, Netflix, and a few other major only advertisers. I will look into making it less chaotic and work with them on creating less invasive adverts.
