    I
want to say something else about this man.  I got to meet him this
summer and right away garnished a ton of respect for him.  Not
because he won the tournament I was at, but because he had taken in a
young man who I love and admire so much.  A young man who is
likely one of the best wrestlers in the country who has gone through
some tough times.  Most people will never go through the tough
times this young man went through that Gerald took into his house and
started taking care of.  Gerald is not only a man to respect on
the mat, he is a man I greatly admire for the work he has done with
this youth who is a great kid.  Truth is I don't know how the kid
would have done without the help being offered by Dlareg, but I know
this, that young man has a chance now because of the love and help he
    has been given.

When looking for a role model who gives back to
the sport, as well as can kick as$ when need be I can think of no one
better to pat on the back during this Christmas season.

    Gerald,
just wanted you to know, I have noticed, and it is worth my time this
Christmas eve to let others know, that you are more than a man on the
mat, or in the cage, you are a man's man in life.  Keep it up and
would love to again see you this summer.  Blessings to you and
    those you touch.

Whoa, I really apreciate your words.  Well spoken by a good father - I wish that my father was around for my wrestling like you are with your boy.  Dog is pretty big now - he's wrestling at 125 this year, but he will probably go 119 at the end.  You remember what happened last year

    My
situation with the boys is pretty hard with my salary and two kids of
my own, but I make ends meet with the fighting pay - They are
working hard in the classroom and on the mat.  I have big plans
for them this summer with Freestyle/Greco!

Well, again thanks for the kind words!  I'll be back on here after the Midlands tournament and here are some more pics.

    Well,
I have to say that it was a great tournament. I didn't get the
results that I expected, but I had 6 great matches and reached a career
total of 21 wins at Midlands. I was upset in the second round (Dergo upset No. 2 Gerald Harris (a Cleveland State alum), 6-4 in two overtimes at 184 pounds to remain unbeaten on the season. from midlans website) then I battled back in the consilations to place. I beat Vince Jones from Nebraska, Northern Iowa, then former teammate David Gilkey.
I lost another overtime match to Caputo from Harvard when he got behind
me and we scrambled out of bounds. I was called for fleeing the
    mat -

    So that's it - I enjoyed wrestling,
but I don't see myself going back - It's all fighting from here on
out. I have to say thanks to all the people that came and spoke
to me at the tournament especially one great individual that I really
look up to. It was an honor just to shake his hand. I wish
    that I had a camera to take a picture, but I didn't.
    Anyway - the
next fight is bumped to November 10th in Tulsa, Oklahom. It will
be a 185lb Freestyle Cage Fighting title defense.

    I
like Chuck, because he fights with no fear.  He throws every punch
with killer instinct and has an extremely high level of
confidence.  He knows that you can't take him down and you can't
stand up with him?  Damn, I can't wait to see him fight Rampage
    Jackson!

    Na,
Midlands did it for me.  Those 6 matches took a toll on my
body.  A fight takes a lot out of you with minutes of strikes and
grappling.  It was a challenge, because I haven't wrestled
folkstyle every since 03' NCAA's.  I'm done with folkstyle from
    now on.

Thanks, your the man. I just sent you one more page that covers December to April - there was a title defense, Curtis Stout KO, then the Team Quest camp to set up the Leopoldo fight. I will come in an do an entire update - with photos - after we get that in here. I really appreciate the help.

The next fight will be on tv. My manager is in negotiations with a few organizations. I'm just training and getting ready to make some noise.

I'm about to finish this blog update............... I'll use a page per section of the update. It starts right before the leopoldo bout.
