Then you got people saying Mexicans are doing jobs Americans won't do. If that is not the most racist thing to say, I don't know what is.
Would Jesus say I need those poor Mexicans to do the job I and my relatives will not do?
Oh, thanks matclone. I respect your opinion!
Big, give your glasses a good wipe and go wash the windows. Life isn't perfect anywhere, particualrly Russia but your looking at everything through a fog.
Typical glass half empty idealist.
Don't be ridiculous RYou. I have made some points very clear. US foreign policy has been disastrous for a while.
I haven't even mentioned a few dozen countries where America supports anti-government elements in the name of Democracy that undermine those governments and cause regional conflicts.
Big, why are you wasting your time here telling us about what you might do? Why not just go out and do it, and then come back when you have the end product?
I'm guessing most writers need a little encouragement. That's what the "Thanks" sections found in most books suggest anyway. So Big, if he is inclined to so, in the preamble to his book, could thank the gang at thematforum.com. On the other hand, contrary to tradition, Big might say something like: "thanks, but no thanks, to the posters of themat, for their wavering support of my project".
matclone is right,
I am sure anyone who ever wanted to write a book, first shared his thoughts with his comrades.
I simply refuse to share economics' view of the World that people are driven only by accumulation of wealth. When you have Olympics choosing which sports to have based mainly on how much money viewerships can generate, things are not right to me. What if many poor people enjoy certain sports but don't have televisions or cable where they live? Maybe they have to work while Olympics are going on.
In any case, a system of wealth brings out the best and the worst in people equally and I am afraid there is not much left in between because the worst in people eliminates that.-
Round of 12
Big, You make many valid points, a materialistic worldview, be it atheistic materialism (communism) or, economic materialism (capitalism) is inadequate. Capitalism both made and ruined the Olympics. You're right about sponsors determining sports ruining the spectacle. Beach volleyball gets a place at the expense of wrestling and weightlifting for example, mix in inane coverage (John Tesh?) and you see why I don't watch anymore.
