Speaking of which, I was surprised (sort of) to read a tweet from Welch, less than a week after nationals, that said that he was up to 165.

Goes to show how many of these guys cut a ton of weight.
    UNI Panthers...Because it's just right.

He was four pounds over on Monday. Some people are now pretending that means that he doesn't cut much weight. He'll be in the 60's by summer.
"He beat nobodies..Thorn at 133 won't be great, R12 or worse imo...
    I just don't see it...David Thorn is not elite. I don't think he'll place"

Yeah, we all know how Summer goes though.....

    149 A Alton
    157 D Alton
    165 Taylor
    174 Brown
    184 Ruth
    197 MacIntosh
    Hwt Jimmy Lawson

I'm taking Lawson over Gingrich, but I view them as having pretty similar potential, so not a huge difference in who gets that spot.
A big wildcard would be Gulibon bumping all the way to 141 keeping 133 open for Conaway. Gulibon definitely has filled out to 133, but I don't see him going even higher in his first official year..
Dylan Alton's performance at the US Open at 145.5 raises some interesting possibilities for PSU next year. If Andrew Alton's problems were weight-related and if Dylan can hold 149, this could be a fruitful swap.

Hoping Penn States line-up looks like this
    125-Conaway
    133-Gulibon
    141-Beitz
    149-A Alton
    157-D Alton
    165-Taylor
    174-Brown
    184-Ruth
    197-MacIntosh
    hwt-a hopefully a improved Lawson
IMO a great year for Mega to RS

133 to 157 I think have a lot of variables that will be worked out. Beard would be only potential Senior in the lineup.
Iowa State will now have Earl Hall at 133 and John Meeks will redshirt next year.

    I don't disagree.

But if he's absolutely killing himself to make 149 you'd figure that he balloons up after the season a little quicker, at least that would be my perception.

Absolutely. See that all the time. The guys that are really sucking a lot balloon up way more than Ness seemingly did. A 149 cutting a lot of weight I would imagine would be over 160 or so a few days after NCAA's.

Day late and dollar short with the Meeks RS.

What a waste of a year for that kid.

Hope he recovers and has a nice career.
