Thread: Evans Kokesh

Evans beat Kokesh 7-3 at Nebby dual last year. He teched Kokesh at Purdue at Big 10s.

Perhaps the Carver magic helped Kokesh keep it close? Jammen making baseless comments is par for the course though.

Well, it is easy enough to find out. First set of coaches' standings released for each DI wrestling weight class - NCAA.com

    Kokesh has wrestled 29 matches facing the #2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 28th ranked wrestlers. He's beaten 10 and lost to #2 Storley and #3 Evans.

    Evans has wrestled 16 matches facing the #1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 16, and 20th ranked wrestlers. He's beaten 6 and lost to #1 Perry and #2 Storley.

Your statement is clearly wrong unless you are using your homemade rankings.
"He beat nobodies..Thorn at 133 won't be great, R12 or worse imo...
    I just don't see it...David Thorn is not elite. I don't think he'll place"

You're right, Kokesh clearly belongs in front of Evans.

Maybe, maybe not. I just think you spoke without the facts.

Fact: Kokesh is 0-3 against Mike Evans by a combined score of 33-11.

Never disputed that fact. Just your bogus statements about Kokesh's record. At 27-2 and having faced 13 ranked wrestlers you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who has wrestled a tougher schedule, which is the exact opposite of what you posted twice.

Don't know what I'm thinking. I guess I'm getting used to Iowa wrestlers beating down the opposition, regardless of the uniform.

Aah, 1stplace. . .I agreed with you on Brown, but have to disagree here. I partially agree in that A Alton does rely too much on his throws at times (just as QW has done at times). But there is a lot more to AA than just his throws. He has great leg shots and scrambling ability. Don't know what happened last night against Tessari, but his potential is there. In the post-match interview Cody Sanderson said that they need to figure out what's going on with AA. But he's more than just a throwing specialist. There seem to be some similarities with QW 2 years ago. Hopefully the coaching staff can get him to work it through before NCAA's.

Note: 1stplace, I see I misread your post. I thought you had written that basically all he can do is throw. Actually, I'm not quite sure how I missed it, as what you said was clear (guess I read it too quickly). But, yes, I have to agree that he doesn't have any great wins so far this year. So, I agree with you on both Brown and Alton.
