Jensen, I don't visit these boards much because they are laughable so often. All the worry about a fringe sport. We see how stupid so many are with the chance of major broadcast exposure and money and all they do is complain because they don't like how it is presented.
As for Cael, all that talent and he won't wrestle for his country. He could have been another John Smith instead of a one time Olympic Champ. An incredible gifted and hard working wrestler but a failure as a person in quitting.

Many of us who particpate in a "fringe sport" do so because we love the sport pure and simple, not because we look forward to the fame and fortune that professional sports offer. There are more important considerations than national exposure and money.

Yeah, another failure as person, just like Dan Gable.

Yeah, another failure as person, just like Dan Gable.
for the record, Gable was physically unable to compete shortly after those Olympics and zzyx is a moron.

Okay, bad example, but I see no disgrace in retiring from competition at the height of one's abilities, especially in a sport as physically demanding as wrestling. Each individual need only answer to himself. If he has conducted himself honorably, he has no obligation to make excuses to anyone, and Cael continues to contribute to the sport.

Don't be ridiculous. How does a coach of his caliber not elevate the sport?

Seriously? You obviously have no idea what he does or you wouldn't be asking that.
