I was very impressed with Portugal's defense and the way they went at Spain much more than I expected. They really made Spain look a bit out of sorts.

    Congratulations to Spain.

Ronaldo should have been Portugal's first shooter.

Cesc Fabregas has made a habit these last few years of getting the winner in matches that have gone to PK's for Spain.

He has but on the flip side, the rest of the world must be wondering just what in the world was Ronaldo thinking?

    Predictions tomorrow?
    Germany 2-1

Given how Ronaldo has performed in penalty shoot outs in the past (poorly, see 08 Champion's League final and this year's Bayern Munich semi) it may not have made that much of a difference.

Then why hold him until last? Why not just lead off with him and leave the higher pressure later shots to someone else who has a better track record in pk's?

Yea I think that they were thinking with a CLOSER mentality like saving Ronaldo like he was Mariano for the Yankees or something. Backfired but yea Shane doesnt look like it would have made any difference for Portugal.

Best shooter should take the shot 1st or 2nd imo.

Ballotelli is such an enigma, but so talented.
