I was referring more to their seeds at the time but I checked on it and Simmons was the top seed (I mistakenly thought he was the 2 or 3 seed) while Nickerson was the #5 (thought he was more like a 3 or a 4). Now I remember why I was so surprised.

Against Nickerson, Simmons took top in the 3rd period of a 0-0 match. Don't think I've ever seen that before in a big match.... didn't work out either, IIRC Nickerson was getting ridden well then got a reversal.

Nickerson got that much top respect as a freshmen? Kinda weird.

VERY weird, but I don't think it was top respect. I think Simmons was more confident in riding out Nickerson than he was not giving up a late TD after escaping.

I am a many of many weaknesses, but sincerity is not one of them.

I don't care if the score is 0-0 my guy better pick bottom or take an asskicking when he gets off the mat--win or lose !
You know, I think I would rather be a man than a god . We don't need anyone to believe in us. We just keep going anyhow. It's what we do.

If I'm wrestling a guy like Dake or Taylor, I just may choose "up" in a 0-0 tie. I wouldn't be so confident I could get away from one of those two. Although neutral would make more sense. And if I was Dake or Taylor, "up" wouldn't be a bad choice at all, IMO.
