OFF-TOPIC: Anti-Semite, just like the term racist, is a term thrown around by pro-Israeli groups just to get you to shut up, nothing more. Ask any political who disagreed with AIPAC & you will hear a story of how much pro-Israeli forces actually believe in free speech. They don't.

For all of Cockburn's Socialist leanings he has been a consistent voice in speaking out against the abuses of power in Washington regardless of whether they come from the left or the right. He has recently criticized Obama, Socialist Senator from Vermont Bernie Sanders, Al Gore, "Global Warming" & the NY Times for example. His criticisms of Borlaug were equally justified.

While the PR on Borlaug fueled by Monsanto dollars sure sounds good, the fact that he lead much of the drive to patent seed stocks & create genetically modified organisms (which unleashes an entire new strain of viruses upon an unsuspecting public) brings his PR label very much into question. The end result of his work has destroyed the bio-diversity several regions of the world all the while creating massive profits for one of the most dangerous corporations on the planet.

I think that both red-baiting Cockburn and painting him as an anti-semite is almost as much over the top as Cockburn's statement about Borlaug. Borlaug was a great man who had the very best of intentions, but whose work had some very dire repercussions. He was also a supporter of Iowan Henry Wallace who ran on the Progressive party in 1948, which was endorsed by many leftist organizations.
Life is complicated isn't it Herkey?

Grapple, I don't know anything about Cockburn. I got that crap from a quick google search. I had never even heard of him until yesterday. But I do know that Borlaug was a great man and I thought I should stick up for him.

BTW, the progressive party and leftist organizations are very different than they are today. Back then, the left was much closer to what the middle is today.

Wow, KR I couldn't disagree with this post more. Your knowledge in these areas, like many things outside of Penn state wrestling, is clearly limited. I will say no more on this topic clearly unrelated to wrestling unless you want to do via PM. But, wow!

Given that this thread (which I haven't been following) seems to have trended towards the realm of political stupidity, its going to the place where political stupidity is allowed (aka not the College Wrestling section).

Some of you need to bare in mind the rules that we have for this board especially if you're going to deal with topics that could lead to you getting upset.

Could we agree to delete the political posts and put this back into college wrestling area and if they want to start a new thread in the P& R forum.

Back on topic I'll take a shot at some some of the New England States:

Mass: Ken Mallory -fist D3 wrestler to win a DI title, Rodney Smith 2X Greco Olympian, 1992 Broonze medalsit

NH: Eric Bradley - 2X DI AA

VT: Hamlin - DI national runnerup, no one else is even close

    Maine: Deanna Rix

Do they just not have a lot of HS programs in VT, NH and Maine? I would think that someone else would break out of there and at least make a splash in DI like Hamlin. That is assuming that there are HS programs in nearly every school. And honestly, a girl is the best from Maine? I've never heard of her and she may be an Olympian, but if they have girls wrestling in Maine there should be some guys who come out of there too. Unless hockey is so big there that no guys really wrestle. I am a bit confused and disappointed at the list for those states.
