    Illinois 41 Vercelli?
    Is Prater injured or benched?

He's(Ness) been out since that match vs Sentes. I was mat side and it was ribs and sternum they were looking at. Also, I spoke with one of the MN staff before the Iowa vs Minny dual and he also indicated that it was ribs/sternum area. Unless Ness injured his back in practice; I not buying the herniated disc theory.

Like Wiltz said, Ness clearly injured his ribs against Sentes. And before that he looked to be having no problems with injuries at all and did not miss any time from the lineup.

So unless he came back to practice and hurt his back in the past few weeks, the back rumor is bogus. I personally would expect to see him back next week, but thats just me. You never know with J-rob...

Is Ness aware that LoSt expects him back next week?

I have also talked to a few who generally have a pretty good idea what is going on at minny (although J-rob keeps even them in the dark on a lot of things) and they think Ness will be back within a week or so

I agree with you LoSt, I think he's back in a week or so. Ribs are no joke and you can't breath real well when they are bruised and/or torn cartilege. I think 30 days on the shelf is about right for that. Ness is a gamer, if he can go, he will go. With the last few duals that we have had, we haven't needed him so why risk it.

Sat next to Sanders family for the first portion of the mat yesterday and Zach's dad stated it was torn rib cartilage. Sounds like Ness should be back relatively soon.

Wasn't sitting next to them when Zach got his ankle wrenched, but I hope he comes through that OK.

Yeah, I assumed cartilage but had nothing to base that on. That can happen to anyone, anytime, even in a match where Ness kicks someone's butt, like he did to Sentes.
