Qualifications to be a college wrestler
I missed my opportunity, going to a high school that didn't have a wrestling program. I am in the military now, studying BJJ and Judo. I want to be a college wrestler when I get out of the military. I will be 24 years old. I feel that I am in tip top conditioning. But wondering if I will be to old to qualify. Also is it impossible to be a college wrestler without high School experience. I have the desire. Thanks

If you've got the option, the military actually has some great wrestling programs.
Anyone can wrestle - especially someone with a strong understanding of other martial arts.

Re: Qualifications to be a college wrestler
The is NO age limit. Just eligibility. Once you start college you have 4 years plus a Redshirt year to finish competing. Chris Wienke played minor league baseball & then went to Florida State to play Football. He graduated from FSU @ the age of 26.

I believe there was guy who was about 40 that went to college and ended up playing football. eligibility is the key.

Re: Qualifications to be a college wrestler
I went to a community college for half a semester before dropping out and enlisting in the air force. I did not play any sports. Does this mean I am still elegible? I am not trying to wrestle at d1 level. I am wanting to wrestle at a community college. Thanks
