Heard it on NPR so I don't have a link or anything, doesn't seem like the type of stat that a news source would just make up.

The judiciary appointments in California have little to no affect on my life, so it's true, I'm not particularly informed on this.

-An interesting point - Governor Schwartzenegger (a Republican) has said that he would fight any action to amend the California Constitution in such a way as to change this ruling.
-Several groups have already said they will appeal the decision.
-Please keep in mind that the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals (a federal court) is the People's Republic Court - the California State Supreme Court is much more middle of the road.

First of all this is an issue to be determined at the state level. As is the case here.

I have no problem with California citizens deciding to recognize same sex marriages.

I agree 100% with this. This should be conducted at the state level. Of course as a conservative (more old school) I believe in smaller federal and more power to the states.

Personally I don't care if a gay couple wants to get married. Who the hell am I to say they can't. Just my opinion.
