So are you saying that when your ACLU makes policy statements or issues opinions on laws yet enacted, they are wrong and exceed their mission???

Is it illegal if they do so? It seems odd to me that you are begging me for an answer to something that is irrelevant to their mission.

If it isn't illegal for them to speak out about an issue, why should we care in a free society?

Remember that bin Laden himself endorsed John Kerry in 2004. The terrorists tell us that we should keep out of the middle east and quit defending Israel. JImmy Carter, a democrat, decided that he should visit a known terrorist organization and tell them that they are right in their hatred of Israel and that US policy is wrong. Nancy Pelosi, a democrat, decided she would make a trip to Syria and tell their leaders that we should not be defeating terrorism there. Hillary and Obama tell us that we should get out of Iraq and so do the terrorists.

You are wrong about the rest of the world thinking we should get out of Iraq. The 50+ countries that sent troops during our invasion (somehow termed "unilateral" by the democrats) and the 30+ countries that have troops on the ground now still think we should remain in Iraq until the job is done. So, by logical extension, only those who want terrorism are telling us to get out of Iraq.

There is no guilt by association here, unless you are starting to feel it because you agree with those who want to kill you. Just remember that the terrorists still want to kill you whether you agree with them or not. Appeasement will not save you. The democrats think it will, but that is not the case. The 9/11 terrorists even killed their own sympathizers who were in NYCat the time -- they didn't care who else they killed as long as they killed Americans.

You liberals somehow think that they will spare you if you lie down and give them whatever they want. The harsh reality is that they want to kill you just as badly as they want to kill me. Your appeasement won't help.

As we know, liberals are killers. Have you seen the numbers of people that the Clintons have killed (even though they aren't liberals, but, they ARE, democrats, and they're all the same, aren't they?)?

The problem I see here is that we shouldn't be turning Americans against Americans and that has been the MO of the republican party since people objected to Bush proclaiming, "You're either withus or with the terrorists." Republicans, since that day, have sought to do one thing and one thing only: link anyone who isn't a republican to terrorism and an "appeaser of our enemies."

You have an extraordinary capacity to read almost anything you wish into a sentence. However, I think you could take your comments and and reverse them because many feel that liberals do the same things (if you aren't opposed to everything we are opposed to or for everything we are for you are anti-American). Shame on YOU for suggesting that it always has to be us against them. I actually don't see it that way. I pointed out factually that Chamberlain, in his efforts to appease Hitler, actually may have led to the war he thought he was going to avoid.

This thread began with you pointing out the violations of personal freedoms by the Republicans. I said it goes both ways because Obama was quick to try to shut up Imus. I didn't agree with Imus but the door of free speech swings both ways, doesn't it?? Here is a great opportunity to validate that libs and conservatives can agree on something. Well??? It either does or it doesn't.

And I pointed out that no one silenced Imus. I would be the first to scream "foul" if he was silenced. He was fired, as his bosses feared the loss of advertising dollars. Imus, himself, spoke the words. Nowhere in that equation will you find Obama or a liberal responsible.

And, this, "Islamofascists love people like ban," is what propmted my response about piting Americans against Americans, pure and simple.

In both instances that I discussed in this post, it shows us that it's all about taking personal responsibility for one's actions.
