So of all the people that Clinton pardoned, how many of them served no part of their sentence?

I don't know. Marc Rich fled the country with all of his records, and then he was pardoned prior to being located. So that might count as "One".

Marc Rich was probably the most egregious.

Bush will pardon him later. What a freaking joke! Right now he is still guilty but later I will pardon him. Ha Ha Ha.

WASHINGTON - President Bush on Tuesday refused to rule out an eventual pardon for former White House aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby.

    Constitutional Basis
The President's pardon power is established under the United States Constitution, Article II, Section 2:
The President ... shall have power to grant reprieves and pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of impeachment.

    Pardons by Presidency:

Again, Bush commuted Libby's sentence; he did not grant a pardon.

Without turning it on, I am certain talk radio, today, is talking about "what Clinton did" (a common theme during the Bush Administration). They are so predictable. But see above link for a longer perspective.

SL raises a good point, in that pardons are typically (although not exclusively) granted to persons to persons who have already served.

See related actions from Pres. Bush: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/...in889049.shtml

Getting back to my original question: kinda gives the impression that some people are above the law, no?

I think someone should notify those Senators who last week were so vehemently against "amnesty" and all for upholding "the rule of law". I guess it makes a difference as to "who" broke THE LAW, eh?

Here is what Bush said in his previous job:

"I don't believe my role is to replace the verdict of a jury with my own," - George W. Bush on why he signed death warrants for 152 inmates as governor of Texas.

The quote is from his own book, "A Charge To Keep."

Unfortunately nobody will say a word because they know it happens on both sides of the aisle and this entire trial was a waste of tax payer dollars. Bush should have just declared a misstrial from the begining and saved us some money.

Does Bush have the authority to declare a misstrial?
There's no such thing as a pretty good aligator wrestler.

No but, what harm would it have done?
