Default Anywhere you look, corruption has poisoned the Great America

Here is a look at Hilton's prosecutor:

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- When Paris Hilton was sprung from jail early, few were as outraged -- and as outspoken -- as the prosecutor who put her there.

But City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo's complaints of a two-tiered jail system where ''the rich and powerful receive special treatment'' have come to back to haunt him.

Soon after Hilton was sent back to jail earlier this month, he acknowledged his wife had committed a similar infraction -- driving with a suspended license. Among other things, he also admitted sticking the taxpayers with the bill after his wife crashed his city-issued car in 2004, and acknowledged that staffers have occasionally run personal errands and baby-sat his children.

The only reason we know so much about this guy is because Hilton was in the news and her lawyers along with the media probably dug stuff up on him to get him back. How many corrupt judges put people away without any consequences?

I don't see those actions as examples of corruption. Misappropriation of public assets, yessiree. The accident, well that's a risk borne by the city. It happens. It's not like he said he was the driver after it occurred.

You want corruption, head to NJ. The governor here gave the head of the state labor union, whom happened to be living with before the election, about $2 mil in cash before he was elected. Now, he just let through a poorly negotiated contract renewal, rolled right for the lady he once lived with.

Threatened with an anonymous hotline to report government corruption, almost 50% of the current state legislature will not be running for re-election in November.
