Default satiev was right about Turkey as a better site for missile defense

HEILIGENDAMM, Germany - Russian President Vladimir Putin said Friday that U.S. missile defense interceptors could be located in Turkey, or even Iraq or on sea platforms, offering yet another alternative to an American plan for a missile shield in eastern Europe.

Why does it matter to him where they are when they still have the same potential as they do in the Czech Republic.

No they do not. In Turkey they don't have a potential to put American bases close to Russia.

How did smart Americans not think of this other option?

Just because the base is not right next to Russia it doesnt mean the potential of the missle defense system is not the same.

Don't the superpowers have submarines loaded with nukes that can strike anyplace at anytime?

I haven't been following this issue very closely, but a missile shield sounds a little shady to me??

Russia was never worried about missile shields since they have missiles that can go through tho9se shields. Russia was worried about proximity of American bases that would allow for spying on Russian activities.

American planes don't fly in Russian airspace. Russia is not Iraq. Satelites cannot see everything or Bin Laden would be already caught.

You are not serious, do you really think U.S. planes dont fly over Russia. We have remote aircraft that have the range to fly over Russia.

If america refuses this offer, then we definently know the missle shield is not made for Iran. America has something up their sleeve. The U.S. already pulled out of the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty in 2001 and now this. The U.S.'s idea protecting a country from non existent missles make no sense.
