Who can say that it has not been efective. It's possible that the number might have been 50 if not for the handgun ban.
Probably good people turned in their handguns, some of them were of parents of gangbangers and others. Sometimes there are guns in homes that have outlived their original purpose, say if granny wanted it for protection and has since passed away. Those guns are all potential problems for families with young children.[/QUOTE
The NRA announced that they will be backing lawsuits against Chicago and San Franciso to overturn their bans.

I'd be curious to hear how the police in those places feel about this.

Mine is a 20-inch ..... I use a full-choke with the 2-shot. Devastating. I de-shingled an old barn in one afternoon! After 25-shots, my shoulder looked liked Mark McGuire took 50-shots at it with a Louisville Slugger. I had a black, blue, yellow, and purple bruise on my shoulder for a month. I went to the low slung no support method after that....

I'd be curious to hear how the police in those places feel about this. | I read one commentator in the Rocky Mtn News (a law professor) who suggested that we'll see an "avalanche of appeals" by local govt's, police associations, and municipalities responsible for public safety asking the courts to carve out exceptions to the ruling.

You can't appeal a Sup Ct ruling. Secondly, an exception for "public safety" in DC is exactly what the Sup Ct denied.

Like a good drunk, I didn't feel a thing until the the next day. Then I couldn't raise my arm high enough to comb my hair. I had to have somebody help me put on my tee shirt and shirt. Everybody thought it was really funny - I guess I do too, now.

Absolutely devastating firepower in those big birds!
