Poe for President!! We are left with the following choices:

The Left:

1. Can't drive our SUVs, can't eat as much as we want, and can't leave our thermostats @ 72-degrees. (one of his quotes.....)
2. We cannot drill our way out....no new drilling.
3. Energy efficient appliances.....and conservation (I'm fine with this to a certain degree)
4. No nuclear, keep burning food in our gas tanks as corn-based ethanol, and no clean-coal

The Right:

1. Drill for domestic supplies to lessen our dependence on foreign sources
2. Nuke energy....
3. Clean-coal....
4. Growing momentum towards eliminating mandate for burning food in our gas tanks.

If McCain adopted 3 of the 4 issue on the RHS -- he's our next President. If not, welcome President Obama. That's all.

What a weirdo? Like he suddenly cares about an energy policy, or the "hazards" of using these lightbulbs. After all, Congress has never mandated things before to save energy; they are breaking new ground by trying to get us to save energy.

Throw the screwball, fascist out now.

"they are breaking new ground by trying to get us to save energy."

You call Poe a facist? Now how exactly is he a facist?

Let's see the government forcing the population to do something. That sounds fairly close to Socialism.

Yes, let's worry about government mandates to get us to save energy, thus reducing costs for all, thus relying less on foreign sources of energy. However, let's be sure that we accept government spying on us illegally, forcing telecom companies to do it for us, and stripping ordinary citizens of liberties.

Mandating energy polices is socialism, but blatant violations of liberties is not. Sure he's a fascist. The modern republican party is.

So, tell us, why not save energy? Why not reduce costs? Shall we rely on the "free market" to do that, even though government has a hand in subsidizing this "free market" and protecting their interests?

The left says we can't 'drill drill drill' our way out of this. (They *ALWAYS* say the drill word 3-times.....). My response is we cannot 'save our way' out of this. America is on track to consume 4% less oil in 08/09 vs. 07/08; that's huge. And yet -- the cost of energy continues to sky-rocket. As I indicated earlier, the market is telling us something about the world-wide demand growth vs. supply growth. It's too tight. The way to crash the market is 3-fold:

1. Put the needle in the ground.....
2. Increase rates whenever the Euros do. Or better yet -- if the Euros increase 25 basis point, Ben "Just For Men Beard Color" Bernanke should increase 30 bps.
3. Coal gasification, nuke, and more nukes. Then you can have your battery cars with no pollution.

Ban -- I swear you called Glenn Beck's program today. He had a substitute host, but the caller was using language just like you on the EV1 and the movie you were talking about last month.

lol....okay let's talk about one thing at a time here.

First- it is not the governments job to intervine and mandate that the consumer has to buy a certain kind of light bulb. That is not their job we are not a socialist/communist country. We are a constitutional republic!!

We can talk about the patriot act on a different thread.

Come on fact guy....show the facts on how he is facist.

Chance -- remember that B-Ban has (in the very recent past) called Republicans evil racists and that most are fascists.
