I think many of the things capitalism has given us are just toys to cope with capitalism.

Internet is nice but I am on here mainly because I can't stand most people in NYC valuing wealth above all. I would be happy to trade internet socializing for real world socializing with more sensible people.

Cell phones are nice but they are mostly needed because people are so busy working and don't want to spend even an ounce of energy to walk to the payphone. Cars are nice but people work so hard they desire a piece of transportation that is convinient and private to give them relief from work. Also, in capitalism much of public transportation is made inconvinient to push people to buy their own cars. And so on!

I like where I live for now but for the people and the cost of everything. Its complicated. I like ambitious people of NYC but I hate their greed and arrogance. I enjoy their intellect but hate how they use it. I might prefer friendliness of people elsewhere but I would not like their strict family-orientedness and laid back attitude.

I'll give you this much Big. Godless capitalism is no better than Godless communism or socialism, or any other ism for that matter.

If by God you mean simple pleasures, I would agree.

No, I'm actually referring to the Jewish/Christian God. However, we'd probably find some common ground here if we kept chatting. I'm traveling and pc time is limited.

Provide ANY example of alternative sources out there that have not been deliberately shot down by these people and business interests who will lose money by using them. You can't name one. The right wing media? what the hell are you talking about?
