Ban!!! You did a little more than not disputing it; you actually said it yourself. Good grief man!! The URL below is to refresh your bad memory. BTW -- JensenS didn't mean it; he was using a literary device that you apparently are not familiar with. Just when you think you got me, I turn the table on you.....

My bad.

What did the republicans have to do with civil rights legislation? For that matter, what have they been doing since? I'll tell you this: the democrats who opposed it then are today's republicans. That we know; they all defected into our modern fascist republican party.

Oops. I somewhat stand corrected. What is more of an accurate reflection of my feelings is that modern republicans are fascists, and most are bigots, whether it be toward disadvantaged and disenfranchised groups.

Yes, thems is my beliefs.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm not a republican. I'm not a fan of the republican party, and I'm not an enemy of Ban Basketball. I just thought it was a silly picture.

I find it amusing that the Dems are always saying how bad the republicans are and how nasty they are yet we see time and again that the dems are the ones that throw out the insults and pass judgement.

Well then, President Kennedy was a fascist as well. He is to the right of John McCain who is a modern Republican. McCain is a fascist as well.

You mean, 2/3 of the Federal 3.1 trillion dollar budget for welfare & social spending isn't enough for you? That doesn't sound like there could be too many politicians of any ilk that would be bigoted towards the disadvantaged and disenfranchised groups.

You lefties are so into dividing people into groups and pitting one against the other. It is sickening. Ban -- be a uniter -- not a divider!! LOL

I usually use the word "most." Again, I stand corrected.

Not that much of the budget that you cite goes to the poor. That's just the total number, but not all that receive such assistance is necessarily poor.

How about this? Every poor person in this country gets a $75,000 annual claim on anyone making over $200,000 a year? That leaves the rich person with $125,000 to live on (less taxes of course). Are you happy now?

BTW -- we've had a war on poverty for 75-years in this country. Not working so well is it? Wouldn't it be great if you had an annual claim of $75k on me to give to a drunken street bum in San Francisco?

How long do you think people would put up with that?

Really? Not that much, huh? Here's one tiny example among dozens of programs for the poor. Iowa's projected Medicaid payments in 2009 is 2.7 billion dollars. That's *MORE* than $1,000 for each man, woman, and child in Iowa when you strip out the Medicaid recipients who would not pay that load. My family's share for Medicaid is $7,000. Just Medicaid.......which is only a part of Iowa's overall budget. If you're married, your share is $2,000. Are you saying you want to pay more?

wow you really need to get out more. If that is your opinion then I really do feel sorry for you.

You stated in a post before that you were all about facts. This post shows otherwise.
