I read a rather astounding fact the other day-there are 69,000,000. Catholics in America-that's roughly 25% of the population-what if The Pope calls for a crusade- such as Bin Laden called for a Jihad-Rabbi Yisrael Rosen has already put in effect the ''Amalekites ruling''

''Annihilate the Amalekites from the beginning to the end. Kill them and wrest them from their possessions . Show them no mercy. Kill contiuosly, one after the other. Leave no child , plant, or tree.Kill their beasts.from camels to donkeys''

Seems to me things could get pretty exciting soon .

Obviously that would never happen for the pope to order something like that. His is a message of peace and love among men. It would be as much of an abomination of the Catholic faith to call for such a thing as it currently is an abomination of Islam for Bin Laden to do what he is doing in the name of faith.

Um.... even if the pope told all the catholics to start killing people, which he won't, do you really think they would? My guess is "not so much".

Unless they were getting killed in massive numbers.. I'd think it was even less likely that they'd all turn the other cheek and let their heads get cut off. Of course it would require a pretty massive Islamic following inside of the United States to do such a thing, but I'm sure its something we've prepared for as a Country militarily..

Bin Laden has no official position from which to represent Islam so it's a poor comparison. As far as the Catholic Church is concerned, as far back as I can remember the sitting Pope's have urged non-violent solutions to conflicts so it would seem unlikely that it would occur.

I actually became interested in the Catholic Church recently after the Pope was here. No other person on earth commands such a presence; it is such a major event when he goes anywhere.

I'm trying to learn more and have checked out a couple of books already. I have noticed over the years that Hollywood definitely has an anti-Catholic bias. It seems that it is always fashionable to be anti-Catholic.

idk where this came from, but being a catholic, alot of us dont do the popes will and call, thats more the bishops and priests, and from there on. and besides, after growing up with a nice and loving pope, if he suddenly called for war, then alot of us just use common sense and just do nothing

Indeed. Considering the Church's success in promoting abstinence over birth control, I suspect that a general call-to-arms would have little impact.
