Currently there are more then 50 detainees that have been cleared of all charges against them but remain in custody because the US can not find suitable countries willing to accept them . To argue this matter as if all the detainees are military combatants or terrorists is disingenuios at best. I have no pity for the guilty but we have not lived up to our duty to relocate those deemed to have been noncombantants in a timely manner. Shame on our government and shame on us for remaining silent as this injustice continues. |
I am clearly talking about the 9/11 detainees. But I still maintain that the privileges of the Constitution are not afforded to foreigners.
