Russia isn't even worth fighting against, it'd be a waste of time. Putin needs a war to take the focus off the pitiful job he's doing of improving the lives of his citizens, thats why he's doing this.

Ugly, we can put up what ever missle defense system that we want on our soil or for that matter in space and it would not cause the type of uproar that occurs when you build that same system right next door to our former nemisis. Remember the Cuban missle crisis. We did not want missles in our back yard then and they do not want them in their back yard now.

I realize that we believed that they were nuclear missles back then but there is no way that we can assure them today that ours are not able to be retrofitted for the same purpose on short notice.

We do not need these batteries for our defense so we should not be trying to build them. Nothing more then sabre rattling.

Hardcore the difference between the Cuban missle crisis and now is that there was tension between the U.S. and the Soviets. Jensen is right the Russians are worthless now (not the people of Russia) and Putin needs to distract his countrymen from the terrible job he is diong. This is a major reason why Russia will never be a world super power again and is basicly irrelevent in todays world, they dont know how to play ball. Russia still thinks they have some kind of sway on the global scale when in fact they have about as much decisive power as Ethiopia.

Russia can end this world if it wants. That is pretty powerful I would say.

Its not Putin that is doing a bad job. His approval ratings are more than twice as that of Bush's. The problem is that Russia was forced to take five steps back when communism ended, much unlike the West trumpeted when it lured weak Russian leaders of the 80s to sell its own country.

The lives of Russians as a whole never improved since the 80s.

The ability to destroy is not real power because we also have that ability as I am sure other countries do as well. No onewould dare set into motion an end of the world scenario because that would mean the end of themselves so it is a powerless power. Putin is not doing a good job and just because approval ratings are up and I am sure they are all legit ratings (right!) doesnt mean he is doing what is best for his country.

How the hell would you know what kind of job he's doing? Have you been to Russia recently? Life is much better now under Putin than ever and the economy is improving faster than ours.
