Wow CNN is a joke

I think it's due to the news networks being owned by larger conglomerates that also make movies, so it's like a "house ad" for their sister division, not news at all.

I have noticed this too and am bothered by it. They also put Dancing with the Stars news in the top story list as well.

Yep. The sports shows I watch are embedded with all sorts of advertisements. ESPN the Soap Opera, purports to broadcast sports news, but they'll have the Budweiser hot seat, or the Nike play of the day, or whatever. And they'll advertise ABC shows (their parent). And they constantly constantly advertise themselves. In the ESPN the Soap Opera Sunday Night baseball games they've been playing some artist's new song sometime during the broadcast (not during a regular commercial) and will mention it by name. Presumably products sold by the media conglomerate.

So where should we go for news? Sometimes I do listen to NPR's news, but I'd like to find a website with real news and without all that garbage. I go to Google News to see what the top stories are, but they just link you to CNN and all.
Where's the best unvarnished, marketing-free news?

Chance, you're obviously a strong republican partisan. You complain about some stupid link on CNN as if they were attacking your own family member. If stuff like that really pisses you off, then you are in for a very rough ride for the forseeable future. I strongly suggest if stuff like that continues to piss you off, then just avoid it. It will help your blood pressure. This is why the "ignore poster" option is such an agreeable feature on these forums. If someone around here pisses you off....WALAA-be done with them!

BTW, how many times did ALL the visual media outlets play the Wright snippet? Do you think they were being kind to Obama at that time?

You will notice a lot of people have chimed in here that are both republican and democrats. I hate to be the one to tell you this, but this post had nothing to do with Obama or McCain. Yes the articles were about them but the point was not. You will notice in my original report i was even pointing out a stupid article on Obama.

I doubt you will listen though but what the hell I tried.

My personal opinion is that it is the most balanced out of the major networks and media outlets. That being said does it lean right, yes. Is it as bad as CNN or MSNBC, no.

I usually read Fox, CNN, Drudge and a variety of other left and right leaning sources about an issue and then make up my own mind.

That makes you a partisan. Your sh!t smells good and the rest of them stinks. You are a partisan. The otherside is evil. You are good. This comes out in a big way during election cycles and especially during Presidential election cycles. But you are absolutely sure - within your partisan myopia - that I am full of crap, and that your side is the most fair.

FWIW, they are all partisan. The difference between you and me is I realize that all of their sh!t stinks. You only think the side you disagree with sh!t stinks. You side may fart from time to time but their actual sh!t smells like roses.

FWIW, I wish I could have found a taker that would have taken me betting my life savings, and all of my assetts, at a 1000-1, that you would have said this. I would have taken the bet, and would be a rich man.

(sigh) Me being a rich man means that wrestling would have been well taken care of.
