What was it Bush said, something about you're either with us or with them? When dealing with this administration, everything seems to be in absolutes.

What? you're saying that the media might pull some short snippets of what someone says totally out of complex and blow them way out of perportion? That's just crazy talk.

Ari Fleisher was McClellan's boss and close friend, he said that McClellen NEVER once objected, even privately, to what he purports to find objectionable. Furthermore Fleisher also says that he talked to McClellan several months ago about the book and McClellen reported THEN that there was nothing in the book that would make the Administration look bad, However a few months later McClellan reported that the editors werent happy with what he had submitted.

Face it. Books like this dont sell UNLESS they dump dirt. Nobody is going to buy a book that offers no surprizes.

Careful there, the threat of a "mushroom cloud" is upon us. I was googling to see if we got Bin Laden as he was wanted dead or alive over 5 years ago. Could not find anything though.

McClellan sais that the point of the book was exposing the continuous campaign culture of Washington, not exposing abything about the Bush Administration.

Viera, who was interviewing McClellan, kept asking leading questions and tryign to say that Bush totally lied about Iraq, WMDs, etc. McClellan said that Bush didn't intentionally mislead anyone and that his administration was much more truthful than Clinton's (which Viera cringed at). At one point, McClellan told Viera that she was missing the point of the book -- the book was about the campaign culture in Washington, not an indictment of the president.

It seems as though the media has taken a couple of pages worth of the book and claimed that the entire book is that way, instead of understanding that the majority of teh book is NOT about the Bush White House, but is about the campaign culture of Washington.

If you're interested in the truth and not what some people say it is on a whim, like matclone very often claims, then you would reject nearly everything the media has said about the book. Its author certainly has. The liberal spin the media has put on this book is certainly unconscionable.
Liberal spin? Oh really? Those damn liberals are ruining this country I tell ya!

I'm sure you listened to the interview completely with an open mind and your team would never spin anything. The no-spin zone if you will.

Bush Refuses to Read McClellan’s Book, Calling It ‘A Book’
Puts Chances of Reading Book at Zero

On a day when Washington was abuzz with the news that former White House spokesperson Scott McClellan had published a tell-all memoir, President George W. Bush offered his personal reason for not reading it.

“I have no intention of reading Scott McClellan’s book,” Mr. Bush told reporters, “because it’s a book.”

Mr. Bush said he was “surprised” that Mr. McClellan had written a book to criticize him because “if you’re trying to communicate some criticism to me, a book is pretty much the last place you’d put it.”

The president said that he thought the chances of his someday reading Mr. McClellan’s book were “zero,” adding, “If I didn’t read the Iraq Study Group’s report, I really don’t think I’m about to read Scott McClellan’s little book.”

Presidential historian Davis Logsdon of the University of Minnesota observed that if Mr. McClellan honestly expected his memoir to somehow reach Mr. Bush’s nightstand, “that demonstrates just how little he knows George W. Bush.”

“Scott McClellan would have had a much better shot if he had put his memoir in Xbox 360 format and then slipped it into a package labeled ‘Grand Theft Auto 5,’” he said.

For his part, Mr. Bush said that there was in fact a book published this week that had caught his eye: the new James Bond thrilled entitled “Devil May Care.”

“Now, that book looks like it could be good,” he said. “Maybe I’ll have Laura read it to me.”

I did not chime in on this topic because I have yet to read the book. I agree that the truth is always much deeper then a few snippets of info whether it is gleaned from a couple of pages of a book or a couple of soundbites from some sermons. The spin from both sides of the political spectrum is unconscionable IMO.

I don't think anyone should buy this book. There is nothing in there we don't already know.

McClellan is a worthless prick anyway. Full of political soundbites.
