It's already been established on this forum and other places, that very few want to actually talk about what Wright said, but they are more than ready to condemn him as the devil.
Hagee may be the devil too, but there's one thing he isn't: black.

Can we accept the political candidate for what s/he is, and not by his bedfellows?
You see how these things work: if one is predisposed to dislike a candidate, he'll accept all sorts of ridiculous smears by association or soundbite. But if it's a candidate in which he finds favor, the ridiculousness of such associations suddenly becomes clear.
you are reaching for a connection where as these are two totally different situations. Yes Wright is no longer his pastor or spiritual advisor but was for 20 years he was.
Ulizing those sites with an obvious far left wing bias is like getting all your information from worldnetdaily.com (far right wing site). Not a good idea.

Just as a comparison cannot be made based on how long Obama was a member, a comparison also can't be made in that McCain was endorsed and accepted it, whereas Obama did not.
Tell us what is not factual about the links that I posted. What is not accurate?
Finally, what did Wright say that has everyone up in arms?

I would also add this. Is there anyone on here who 100% agrees with what your church's position is on something? Very, very, very few people could say this.
As just one great example, over 40 different denominations came out in oppostion to the Iraq War, yet, at its peak, more than 80% of us approved of it (killing of people). Furthermore, very few Chrisitan churches will support capital punishment, yet a slight majority of Americans favor it (killing people).
So, how and why would Obama be different?

i could understand this if the man were Catholic -after all -hitler is still a Catholic in good standing as are most of the third reich -but Baptist ? Either way he just blew the election .

In the political game part of it Haggee is cover for Wright. If they bring up Wright then the Obama folks bring up Haggee. Even if there is a difference between the two, it is pretty easy to spin them into exactly the samething. Don't belive me? Look at all those people in Appalacian(sp) mountains who think Obama is a Muslim.

McCain's pastor?? This guy was just a guy who offered support to McCain. McCain did not sit in his church for 20 years. McCain did not call him his spiritual advisor at ANY time, much less as recently as a few months ago. The whole problem with the Rev. Wright situation was that he was so adamant about his hate for America and the Obama had called this man his spiritual advisor and said that he agreed with everything Wright said and stood for. It has NOTHINg todo with race -- it has everything to do with Obama saying that he got spiritual advice from, agreed with, and trusted someone who loudly proclaimed "God d**n America"!
But, if we want to ride the slippery slope of identifying candidates with those who endorse them, recall that bin Laden endorsed John Kerry in 2004 and said the democrats should be in power, not the republicans. I don't know about you guys, but I don't think bin Laden is the best person to make decisions about US policy and I don't want anyone who thinks like him to make US policy, either.
