Do you need a source for that?! That's about as well known as you can get!

Heard it on NPR so I don't have a link or anything, doesn't seem like the type of stat that a news source would just make up.

    Fair point.

The judicial appointments in Cali are about as well known as you can get? That's a weird world you live in.

The judiciary appointments in California have little to no affect on my life, so it's true, I'm not particularly informed on this.

-I'll have to check tonight, but I think my marriage is still valid.
-An interesting point - Governor Schwartzenegger (a Republican) has said that he would fight any action to amend the California Constitution in such a way as to change this ruling.
-Several groups have already said they will appeal the decision.
-Please keep in mind that the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals (a federal court) is the People's Republic Court - the California State Supreme Court is much more middle of the road.

First of all this is an issue to be determined at the state level. As is the case here.

I have no problem with California citizens deciding to recognize same sex marriages.

Just what I was thinking... not exactly "common knowledge", at least to those of us who don't really care
