It all comes out now. It confirms my assertions about McCain committing Americans of today to Iraq because he is paranoid over Vietnam:
There is a feeling among some of McCain’s fellow veterans that his break with them on Iraq can be traced, at least partly, to his markedly different experience in Vietnam. McCain’s comrades in the Senate will not talk about this publicly. They are wary of seeming to denigrate McCain’s service, marked by his legendary endurance in a Hanoi prison camp, when in fact they remain, to this day, in awe of it. And yet in private discussions with friends and colleagues, some of them have pointed out that McCain, who was shot down and captured in 1967, spent the worst and most costly years of the war sealed away, both from the rice paddies of Indochina and from the outside world. During those years, McCain did not share the disillusioning and morally jarring experiences of soldiers like Kerry, Webb and Hagel, who found themselves unable to recognize their enemy in the confusion of the jungle; he never underwent the conversion that caused Kerry, for one, to toss away some of his war decorations during a protest at the Capitol. Whatever anger McCain felt remained focused on his captors, not on his own superiors back in Washington.
Re: McCain wants America in Iraq because of Vietnam
I only read one page, but it reads like pure poppycock. The writer's going to psychoanalyze McCain's experience in Vietnam, and use that to explain his political position on Iraq? Whatever. This is just a hair above the sort of stuff I usually see from idiot right-wing blogs, and don't expect to see in the New York Times.

Please, share your thoughts. There are many things you can say about McCain that have validity to them, but this isn't one of them, and of course it isn't definitive (or even persuasive) proof, and yet Big pretends like it is with his first line:

Yeah, this article obviously proves that...

Re: McCain wants America in Iraq because of Vietnam
I really don't know who am going to vote for in this next election but the stupid rumors and psychoanalysis of the candidates is out of hand. "Obama hates America because he didn't put his hand over his heart" or the above saying that McCain will keep us in Iraq because he had a terrible experience in Vietnam! Are you shittin me??. Just because your vision for what is right for this country differs with one of the candidates does not make them complete idiots. The way things are argued on this board are always in absolute black and white. Is that really the way alot of you live your lives??? Everything is black and white? No grey areas??Seriously??

Re: McCain wants America in Iraq because of Vietnam
The argument in the article boils down to "McCain's experience [and torture] in a prison camp (!) was less harrowing and 'morally jarring' [in their words] then their own experiences in the jungle." Gotcha. The only possible reason that he has a different opinion is because he was tortured in a prison camp. Yes, that makes sense.
