Gotcha. The only possible reason that he has a different opinion is because he was tortured in a prison camp. Yes, that makes sense.
Can't you read? They are saying McCain is mad at the captors and his pals are mad at American superiors for sending them there because: McCain spent the worst years for American soldiers in prison, THOSE YEARS WHEN KERRY AND OTHERS LEARNED IT WAS NOT WORTH FIGHTING.

Just imagine an American soldier captured at the begining of Iraq invasion by Al Qaeda and released when American military decides to leave Iraq without success. This soldier will not experience all the setbacks that we have been witnessing for 5 years.

I think this article is right on!

It's not like he's been frozen in ice for the last 30 years.

Don't you think he's been brought up to speed about what happened when he was a POW?

Are you saying he wants to kill Iraqis becauses he's still mad at his Vietnamese captors?

That's quite a stretch.

I imagine you think anything negative written about McCain is right on. I've yet to see you post a positive.

They're making guesses based on his reasoning with no basis whatsoever. It has been DECADES since he was imprisoned and they were in war, but no, none of their life experiences since then can have had any effect, on his decision making. Not to mention how would it make any sense for a man who's sole decision making process is based on being captured and tortured to send his own son over there?

I see a big difference in wanting to stay in Iraq and not pulling out of Iraq.

I think everybody wishes we could bring our men and women home.

However, the issue is very complex and simply leaving Iraq could have a very negative effect the entire Middle East.

McCain still feels Vietnam should have been won and he just can't let Iraq turn into another Vietnam loss because he PERSONALLY can't accept that his whole prison fiasco which changed his life was for nothing in a PRACTICAL sense of the word.

Believe what you want, but I prefer reason over mind reading.

Just imagine McCain has his way and leads America to "Victory" in Iraq. He will go around saying he was right all along about Iraq and Vietnam and hence his Vietnam bitterness finally dissipates and makes him a genius in the eyes of Americans.

Well, with impeccable logic like that...
