RYou -- I'm not a doctor or anything, but I seriously think he suffers from the Stockholm Syndrome; it's the only diagnosis that makes sense. Certain people in certain situations side with the oppressor and show loyalty to them.

Why would anybody side with Stalin/communism/Al Qaeda/Hezbollah? Answer: Stockholm Syndrome

Apparently, whole countries like Russia, China, and Cuba -- all suffer from it. Why else would its people show pathetic compliance with ruthless dictators who ethnically cleanse?
