So, why such strong, virulent opposition? The opposition has been explained to you over and over an over. The fact that you still do not understand proves you have tuned out that which you do not want to hear.
So why do you even bother to post on this thread.

...how is that quoting me, as you claimed?

Is it that immigration laws are too strict and should be revised by easing restrictions?
Or is this a conversation about social perceptions and the treatment of any immigrant irrespective if they have entered the country by following the current immigration laws or not? | I'd say your third option is clearly the closest to the orginal intent of this thread. But only Ban can say for sure.

You're welcome.
One thing we need to do that I forgot to mention, is to take a look at NAFTA and the other so-called free trade treaties and proposals, since those are arguably a major cause of the migration. One thing that's happening is that U.S. subsidized corn is flooding the Mexican market and putting farmers there out of business. Other foreign policy has some effect as well.

Matclone, how have you been? I hope well. Take good care. pm

Do we not, as a nation of laws, have the right to determine who, what, and how many foreigners that we allow into this country? We allow well over a million people per year to become residents legally, that is a major city per year...when is enough?

-What's to stop them from wanting it or getting it? There is a big difference between people already here and people who may want to come here in the future.
"Do we not, as a nation of laws, have the right to determine who, what, and how many foreigners that we allow into this country?"
-We do have that right, and we chose to allow a ton of people in. Now people want to throw them out to get a sense of revenge instead of looking at it from a practical perspective.
"We allow well over a million people per year to become residents legally, that is a major city per year...when is enough?"
-When the market says it's enough, or are you in favor of letting big government over regulate the labor market?
