This goes back to the same old question. Why should I have to pay more taxes to reward illegal behavior. The second part is yes by legalizing them they would have to pay taxes. Who hires these people....the answer those who don't want to pay at least minimum wage. If they are citizens then they have to get paid the minimum therefore wouldn't have the same jobs they have now because their previous employers will go out and find cheaper labor. Do you not see this? Are you that naive?
I never understood why people think that they have to be in favor of everything that their taxes pay for. I am against the war in Iraq, and yet my taxes pay for it.
Your links represent the haters, clearly. FAIR lacks any credibility. I dont' even need to look at the other site. These groups rely on presenting costs (always exaggerated), and ignore the taxes paid. Haters all do this. They show you half the picture, and pretend it's the whole, as if I were to take picture of your house at night, and then run around to everyone I knew and tell them Chance lives in darkness. Like I said earlier, they do not care for accuracy or reason. They will present false and skewed information. Their interest is not in resolving the legitimate question about immigration.
People grossly underestimate the amount of sales taxes that illegal immigrants player.
If I were to do what FAIR and other anti-immigrant groups do, I'd figure out what it cost to educate matclone's children, multiply by a factor of 2.5, then run around to everyone I knew screaming: look how much matclone is costing us!!!
I have absolutely no hate for illegal immigrants. I just want them to follow the laws like my family had to do. I thought the last immigration plan was a good idea. I would like to provide a better life for my family too but if I do that illegally I would get in trouble and possibly go to jail. I only want what I see as fair, as do most Americans. Some on here want to pigeonhole everyone who is against illegal immigration as uncaring and racist. I don't consider myself either.
"I wasn't in Phoenix. I live in Denver and I've been in the parades. The problem with your statement about flags is this: it's wasn't a simple statment of fact. It was a statement designed to represent the idea that Mexican immigrants are somehow disloyal to the U.S. or a threat or are in some other way are reprehensensible. I call bullshit. I'm not threatened the least by working people. "
You weren't in Phoenix but you claimed I was making stuff up. Again you are lumping immigrants in with Illegal immigrants. If a person is marching to demand rights and citizenship from a country you would think they would want to carry the American Flag and not the flag of the Country they are fleeing from. Doesn't that raise any questions in your mind?
?I was in the parades, which included U.S. and Mexican flags. I been on the bus with poor women, carrying U.S. flags, and their posters saying "I'm not a criminal", and I'm thinking, How were this people so dehumanized that they have to prove their right to exist without condemnation?"
Someone saying they are not a "criminal". Were they here legally? If so then they are right they are not a criminal. If they are not here legally then yes they are a criminal.
They have the right to exist just as every human on this planet but I guess the Laws of different countries no longer matter.
If I were to do what FAIR and other anti-immigrant groups do, I'd figure out what it cost to educate matclone's children, multiply by a factor of 2.5, then run around to everyone I knew screaming: look how much matclone is costing us!!!
Not even half the picture.
These people are not anti-immigrant groups they are anti-Illegal Immigrant groups. There is a big difference!!!

Blue there is a diffence between the two.
One was due to our president and the congress who voted for it. We can remove them from office with our vote if we don't agree with it.
The other is being forced on this country from the outside with people breaking the law.
These people are not anti-immigrant groups they are anti-illegal Immigrant groups. There is a big difference!!!
Yet they treat all immigrants the same. My question is this - how do you know that someone is an illegal immigrant? How do you know that people who were marching last week were all illegals? Do you ask them? I still fail to see compassion in any of your arguments. Do you think that anyone who comes to this country illegally forfeits the right to compassion?
