The interesting part about this topic is that I'm a practicing Catholic and yet, I find it uncomfortable when some strange person comes up to me, or knocks on my door and wants to talk about God or Jesus. I have my own personal relationship with God and I prefer to keep it personal. I can't imagine how uncomfortable I'd be with this topic if I didn't believe.

That's why I like the first part of this bit by Jim Gaffigan

He tells me ok but what do I think of our purpose on Earth. I tell him: "Who knows?" He tells me: "What do you think people just sit in some room after they die?" I say: "No, they become part of the Earth when they die."

He says: "Then how do we find out how we got here?" I tell him: "Hopefully one day scientists find all the answers."

He says: What is the purpose to live?" I say: "There are none. You can kill yourself any time you want. But if you have something that is interesting to you and you like to do in life then that is your purpose." Man that guy was totally clueless in the world.
No wonder you are so sad.
