"I am always amazed at the standard non-religious people want to hold religious people to."

While I didn't start this topic, I'll chime in for the sake of discussion. I realize that religious people are just like anyone else, with weaknesses and strengths . . . BUT . . . it's the "holier than thou" people who preach that they're right and everyone else is wrong that I hold to a higher standard because they claim to adhere to a higher standard. If you claim to be better than everyone else, you darn well better act like it. I know religious people who make themselves and the world a better place because of their faith, and I've seen (we've all seen it) terrible evil and injustice done in the name of religion; but as long as no one is telling me what I should do and how I should believe, or claiming superiority to me, I hold everyone to the same standard of basic courtesy and morality.

I agree with Spider that no one should hold somebody else to a standard they arent able to live up to. To the best of my knowledge Sylvester Stallone was not attempting to hold anyone to a standard he was making personal statements. If you want to hold Benny Hinn to a high standard fine but dont just lump everyone in together.

I think another point is that no one is able to live a life of perfection in everyones eyes. Some cant comply with what would seem to be the siplest moral values but that does not make them or the religion they subscribe to bad or false and it does not reflect what all religious people do.

Is it anti-christian to take steroids or growth hormone?

I thought, generally speaking, it was a sin to break the law--and that would certainly extend to obtaining or transporting illegal drugs. But I've come to learn that some lawbreakers are more equal than others.

Nothing that I know of, but it is illegal to sell it or buy it without a prescription just like any other controlled substance.

What drugs was Stallone caught with?

He had vials with testosterone on him as well.

First, it was against the law to bring them to Australia. Testosterone is an anabolic steroid.

But, what makes him immoral in my eyes is the fact that he always prides himself on pure will and tough physical preparation and he plays these characters that are always these innocent, humble and moral people. Yet, he needs growth hormone and testosterone to do those movies.

Rocky IV had Drago get steroid injections while Rocky was in Siberia honestly training. Now we know better. Hypocrisy, nothing more.

Rhetorical question, Big: do you feel the same way about actors or actresses who get face lifts or boob jobs--that they're immoral?

Hypocrite comes into play when he asks you do something he's not doing. Is that what's going on, Big. Is he demanding that you be a Christian, or is he just trying to set an example?
