I dont necessarily think he's a racist ala Farrakhan, but when he rants for the pulpit screaming "...not God Bless America but God DAMN America!" I DO think he hates America.

Ugly, please consider some punctuation in the future. That was painful to read.

Thanks for helping them out. I didn't realize that such a simple statement would be such a struggle for some.

With respect to Rev. Wright, again, we see people (Ugly ("He will lie"), ctc ("He is hatred")) draw conclusions without any supporting arguments and without acknowledging that there may be any different point of view other than he is the devil incarnate. matclone

What Wright said was so very plain and clear. Nice of you to extend your hatred toward me and another poster for speaking out against Wright's hatred. "God damn America" and "the government invented AIDS to kill off blacks" doesn't need an intrepretation. Those who struggle with understanding these statements need to stop injecting substance - methinks.

Could someone explain the context of this quote? This portion of a sentence gets played over and over on the news but I haven't heard/seen anything about what he said right before/after this portion of a sentence.

I don't have a link, but you can Google. I believe Bonnie linked to a 10 to 15 minute sermon, with the intent of providing context.

Here's the one I posted earlier. By the way, Bill Moyer's interview should be interesting. He is a member of the United Church of Christ. I am too, although I'm not a very committed member.

It's amazing when you hear all of these snip its that have been played of Wright's in full context or quote. They come out sounding a lot different from the one sentence quotes that are so strategically being used.

Either way, Americans are smarter than that, though. They haven't been falling for it and poll numbers show little change with people concerning these statements. it is a small faction of weirdos hell bent on winning the white house in November who are trying to act offended and outraged by it.

I don't really want to open this can of worms up again, but that's not correct, in my estimation. You believe that anyone offended by Wright's comments is part of a "small faction of wierdos hell bent on winning the white house in November"? Really?
