Carter is meeting with a delegation of Hamas in Cairo. Curious on what you all think about it. Should he be meeting with them?

My best friend is there with him. She is the least political person I know, but she is just there as an event planner. How nutty is that? I'm worried to death about her, and I will continue to be until I see her back in the Chi, sitting on her couch.

I hope your friend arrives back home safely. It is a dangerous part of the world but she will have a lot of security around her because of the company she will be with.

It is also a beautiful part of the world rich with history. I was never in Cairo but did spend time in Israel studing the history and religion.

As a point of clarification to a parroted statement above oft heard on right wing radio, Carter had higher job creation than Reagan, lower unemployment rate than Reagan, nearly identical average income rate growth than Reagan (.8% for Carter) (1% for Reagan), an energy policy that was scoffed at, and a scandal free Presidency.

Not sure how he could be the worst with those numbers, especially compared to one of the "greats," Reagan.

Hmmm...I learn something new everyday.

wow, Ban you are something. I know this is off topic but I wonder have you ever said anything good about a republican polition? Listen even most Democrats believed that Carter was a bad president and Reagan was voted for by a lot of Democrats.

I'm all about facts. I always clear the error when things have been stated incorrectly, which they were in this case.

By the way, there are a few republicans who I like and say good things about. However, I'm a very open and confirmed partisan. I don't hide from the fact that I seek to point out facts pertinent to republicans first and foremost.
