As for the minister, he referred to people he doesn't even know as lazy. That spells asshole in my book. Capice?
You didnt "call him on it" matclone you accused him of being a racist, because he agreed with this speech.

Unless you can prove that not one single welfare recipient is not lazy than at least some of what Rev. Joe Wright says is true.

Rev. Joe Wright is no more calling every welfare recipient lazy than you can say there isnt one that is.

Your attempt at moral intimidation reveals an incapacity to defend your position on its merits.

    Yes he did.

    To ask your forgiveness and
To seek your direction and guidance.

I think your words here reveal just how little thought you gave to his words.

If you think these are morally equivilent words and cannot understand America's differing response then you are more out of touch than I thought.
Seriously? a portion of a sentence from each one and you can make conclusions about moral equivilence?

I have seen the full context of both prayer/statements. Both are consistant with their full messages.

As to the moral equivilence, that was ban's assertion, I was pointing out why I thought he was wrong.

Uh, how I am acting like a baby? Am I calling people names and such?

We'd better check to be sure the Kansas minister is a white guy. Cuz if he is black, then I do believe that Matclone must be a racist. He called him an ignorant a-hole.

Do you spell hypocrisy with a capital H or a small h?

Matclone, you seem to love callign white people racists. Have you ever been the subject of a racial slur? Have you ever been the only black person in a room of white people? I have. The most racist person on this board is YOU! You have so much disdain for white people that you can't think straight. YOu let your dislike of white people get in the way of judging life objectively.

Who cares if the white Rev. Wright called welfare recipients lazy -- so what?! He called welfare recipients of ALL races lazy. The black Rev. Wright state that ALL white people were responsible to giving AIDS to blacks. That statement IS racist.

Perhaps it is the people I choose to be around or just dumb luck, but I have not met another black person who stands up for Jeremiah Wright or the things he said. It really is funny seeing some whites trying to stick up for this guy when blacks (and whites whose eyes are open) know that he's a jerk.

BTW, I wonder why matclone has only chosen to comment on certain portions of the prayer, but not others. Didn't matclone, in past threads, tell us that lotteries exploited poor people? Hasn't matclone said that we shouldn't neglect the needy for our own self gain? Hasn't matclone said that shooting abortionists is wrong? Joe Wright is saying those things, too, but clone has chosen to let a knee-jerk reaction cloud his judgment.

Is Joe Wright wrong for saying those things, as well, clone? Is it possible that he got some thigns right? Since you tell us you don't believe in Joe Wright's version of th etruch, then you are telling us it is NOT true that lotteries exploit the poor, neglecting the needy is NOT wrong, and that shooting abortionists is NOT wrong.

But, you told us differently in earlier posts. Certainly, you are VERY hypocritical.

You're a big baby for crying that someone called you a racist (over and over), which, by the way, wasn't me. Moreover, I didn't call the Kansas minister ignorant but I did call him an asshole and explained exactly why. But, hey, throw up all the misleading accusations you'd like. Whatever you listen to (not talk radio), obviously trades in misleading arguments--and us v. them-ism, because you do too. You think that kind of shit is normal.

Please. People can call me names all day long, it doesn't matter to me. I just wish that people would bring more of an argument than what I've seen here. I criticized Rev Wright, and I was called a racist because of it. That's the most PC, lazy, BS "argument" possible. But, to say I've been crying about it is ridiculous.

My primary point stands. You're allowed to criticize a white minister and call him an a-hole, because you disagree with him. But when a white guy disagrees with a black reverend, he's called a racist. Double-standard - yes. Hypocritical - yes. PC garbage - yes.

In addition, please point out my "misleading accusation".
