DUBLIN — The collapse of the housing bubble in the United States is mutating into a global phenomenon, with real estate prices swooning from the Irish countryside and the Spanish coast to Baltic seaports and even parts of northern India.
Big, real estate is a cyclical investment, but if you look past all the historic down cycles, its the best investment you can make, no matter where the property sits.
Big is under the illusion that there will be worldwide chaos and that the people will rise up and DEMAND communism and then being such a stalwart of that failed disorder he will become a Commisar or something similar and take over some rich guys house and car and be important.

I get enough pleasure just laughing at people like you that think your American miracle is something of long term and doesn't have disasterous consequences.
I've always wondered.....why aren't citizens of communist countries simply allowed to say "No thanks, I'd rather have freedom" and walk across the border? If the communist method of governing is so great, why must people people be forced to stay in these countries? And if capitalism is so flawed, why don't we hear of more people leaving the US to live in Cuba?

May I remind you that there is no communism in Mexico or Africa and yet people are still trying to come to America.
In Soviet Union everyone tried to come to big cities to live and work. It has nothing to do with communism or capitalism but with places of more opportunities.

So you're admitting that we have better opportunities in America than in communist countries? That has nothing to do with capitalism?
Yes I admit that but not just because of capitalism. It has to do with American culture and position in the world as well. Nobody from Cuba is interested in living in Kenya for example or Haiti even though there is no communism there.
Many of American opportunities were created thanks to Hitler and WWII. America was in shambles before that.
People talk about Cuba and North Korea. Well, both countries were doing pretty well during Soviet reign and North Korea had a bigger economy than South Korea. When Soviet Union went down so did the economies of Cuba and North Korea. Well, South Korea, Japan and many other countries are doing well because of America as well. As things get worse in America it will get worse in those countries as well. It has nothing to do with isms. If capitalism alone was the remedy Japan's and South Korean economies would not depend on American consumption.
