Obama seems like a much bigger threat, IMO.

Had the Republicans nominated Huckabee I'd have voted for Obama.
I want Hillary far away.

I'm not a Republican, but it seems to me that the overwhelming majority of those who don't like Hillary Clinton (basically the talk radio/Fox News/we hate someone crowd) will vote for the Republican candidate whether she's the opponent or not. I believe the vast majority in the middle (those who will decide the election) would find her electable (just my gut feeling).
Oh, on Limbaugh's campaign to do Clinton in: I think the talk radio group often overestimates their importance and influence. Bombast and exaggeration is part and parcel of their schtick. Remember how they were saying such awful things about McCain only a couple of mos. ago?
I don't necessarily agree with this writer's thesis, but I like some of the evidence he mentions (e.g., Fox News captioning McCain as D-Ariz): http://www.thenation.com/doc/20080421/perlstein

Yes and no. The specific right wing "radio crowd" does constitute 20% of the GOP electorate. That's significant, and furthermore, they are all so worked up and angry that they DO vote.
However, that same 20% also falls flat on their face in their efforts to not get McCain nominated.

On the contrary, the attacks need not be slanderous at all. There's far too much truth and fact to work with.
There are quite a few more on the fringe that could consider, listen and then decide about McCain v Obama versus a slam dunk vote against the Hildebeast. If she pulls herself out of this hole, the one she digs between June and November will be 100 times deeper. She has no freakin chance in the world to winout. There's just too much baggage there; in her rep, under her eyes and on her backside.

What do her eyes or backside have to do with anything? | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
