The strong Russian hatred of Jewish people goes back long before the time of the Czars but the general rise of racial hatred against many types of ethnic minorities in Russia is growing each day.

Russians are not used to global economy and the cultural sacrifice that comes with it. When people of other ethnicities start flocking to Russia for search of work like Mexicans in America, the people can't handle it.
You have to realize people bring in their own customs and a way of life and that changes a country like Russia along with that. Americans think that is a benefit but in Russia people are very conservative when it comes to customs and culture.
Also, Russians have the perception that when foreign people come in and do well, that takes away opportunities from Russians. For example, Russians would be protesting like crazy if Bill Gates started bringing in Indian and Chinese engineers instead of hiring Russian engineers.

One other thing, Russians are still angry at other Republics for separating from Russia during Soviet breakup. Now when people from those Republics come to live and work in Russia, Russians don't want them there.
My own suspicion though is that Russians are very afraid of Russia being taken apart by foreign countries, especially Western countries. Russia is extremely rich in natural and human resources. A country like Britain would love to get its claws on all that through investment. It would be much easier to topple Russia financially with a large block of foreign people living and working there.

Even the root of Russian politics has racial overtones. Their political Parties are never discussed in Western media. Why? Well, they have Parties such as United Russia, Our Russia, Other Russia and so on.
For what its worth you have to understand Russian history. Russia was conquered by Mongols, Poles, Napoleon, and Hitler. Russian Revolution was promoted by Jews. Stalin was Georgian. Russians are very weary of strong foreign forces on its soil or close by.

Hitler and Napolean conquered Russia? Maybe I need to re-read my high school history books...

They conquered much of Russia but then they were pushed back.
They lived in Russian houses, drank milk from Russian cows and had sex with Russian women. I call that conquering.

I question whether Jews promoted the Communist revolution. I would say the Jews may have promoted some of the early Communist ideals that would take away power from singular czars and powerful aristocratic land owners but in the end the Russian racial hatred of Jews never stopped under communism and seems to be a rising problem that has further extended to many different races.
Understanding there is a problem is a good first step. But the lack of will to change the problem of racism could spell disaster for Russia.

Under Lenin 70% of the government was Jewish.
The hatred of Jews increased when much of the World failed to embrace communism as Lenin had promised. Stalin eventually got rid of most Jews in the government because he felt they were not tough enough in the environment where many countries came to dislike Soviet Union. He felt they would allow a collapse and chaos.
Racism will not threaten Russia. It is normal for them. I can tell you I often had fights with people on racial/ethnic basis when I lived there. If you are tough and you are willing to stand up for yourself, they eventually leave you alone and respect you. The weak can face many problems. That is how it always has been over there.
