To tough question #2: I'm going to guess John Marshall.
It had to do with the issue of Cherokee sovereignty in Georgia as it related to their Nation's Constitution v. wishes of the government to remove them I believe. President that said it was Jackson.
I wrote a paper for a history class last semester here at school dealing with the removal of the 5 Civilized Tribes, so thats how I knew.
matclone and JensenS have correctly answered my question. Scott Gallan, ANdrew Jackson was the President who challenged John Marshall in my question. I didn't give his name because I didn't want to give away the era.
